Church Management System (CMS)
BVCMS - Valley's New CMS
Valley Bible Church recently made a change to a new Church Management System. This change was made after consulting with our IT staff.
We belive BVCMS will provide the service, features and value needed as our church grows. Since this is a new system be prepared for some
interruptions and changes while we transition over to this new system. I have put together a list of recommended steps to help you.
First Steps:
- The first thing you need to do is get familar with the new system. This can be accomplished easily through online training that has been recorded for you in a series of webinars and videos.
- You need to watch the first two webinars and after that additional training might be needed depending upon your role.
- Contact the church secretary and verify that your email address is correct and current in the system.
- Contact either Jim Paul or Rich Tarr and ask for a user account so you can access the system.
- Once your account is created, the system will email you your credentials so you can logon to the system.
- Once you have successfully logged in, you can change your password (we encourage you to do so).
To change your password on CMS:
- Click the "Change Password" link in the top right corner of the BVCMS Home Page.
- In box one, enter the password we assigned you.
- In box two, enter your new password (for security purposes the password must be at least 7 characters and contain at least one mark of punctuation, like a period, a colon, an exclamation point).
- In box three, re-type your new password to confirm it.
- Click the Change Password button.
Getting Help:
- Getting the help you need is only a mouse click away. Most of your questions can be answered using the searchable online help system called wiki. Simply enter the text in the search box and click search, or you can click on any of the already listed links on the left.
- If you can't find the answer there, then review the webinars and videos.
- If you still can not find your answer please email either Jim Paul or Rich Tarr.
- There will be a live one hour online training event for Valley provided by BVCMS as some point in the future. If you would like to sign up for that contact Jim Paul or Rich Tarr.
Remember:
This new system is a work in progress. There is a learning curve for everyone including the administrators of the system. Your patience is appreciated. Together with your help we can make this a better system. Your input is valued and appreciated. Thank you!
