God has blessed our church with a great ministry staff. Each one of them brings their unique experiences, personalities and gifts to the team, providing a well-balanced group of dedicated leaders who faithfully serve this congregation. Take a few moments to meet them here on this page.

Hugh McMenamin, Senior Pastor

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, our Senior Pastor Hugh McMenamin has pastored, preached and taught biblical truth for 19 years, all in the environment of Southern California. Hugh earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies from Biola University and his M.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Moody Graduate School. He has also served as a faculty member in the Bible Department of Berean Bible College in Poway, California.

Hugh loves to hike and backpack, having reached the summits of Half Dome in Yosemite, Mt. Whitney, Mt. Shasta and Mt. Rainier. He also enjoys traveling internationally, having visited Israel, Turkey, Jordan, Paraguay, Peru, Australia, Papua New Guinea and just recently, Colombia. Hugh is also unapologetic about his loyalty as an Oakland Raider fan!

His one driving passion is to deliver God's Word with such impact that it moves people toward a deeper understanding of God and a greater development of the spiritual life.

"I'm a spiritual treasure hunter, searching out and digging up old truths long forgotten and putting them on display for people today," Hugh says. When it comes to the ministry of Valley Bible Church, Hugh's hope is "that people will discover a unique place where they can become everything God desires them to be as an apprentice of Jesus Christ."  He and his wife, Cindi, have been married for 20 years and Cindi is a published author and national conference speaker (http://www.cindispeaks.com/).  They have one daughter, Dana, who is attending California Baptist University, Riverside, CA.

Eddie Buelna, Worship Leader

Eddie Buelna leads the team in worship with years of experience as a musician. He attends Palomar College hoping to pursue a career as a youth pastor/worship leader. Eddie wants to study at either a university or a Seminary for Pastoral Studies and Music. Eddie leads by guitar and vocals every Sunday morning. He is also the worship leader for the youth group and a youth leader for the young boys.

Eddie enjoys playing guitar, bass, and drums. He gives guitar, bass, and drum lessons and is already raising up new worship leaders in the youth group. Eddie uses his musical abilities in the recording studio and at other churches for new experiences and is always asked to play at Christian camps. Eddie loves his job as a worship leader and couldn't ask for a better job, playing music for God.

Eddie lives in San Marcos, CA with his mother, sister, and brother.
