Missions

The purpose of Missions at Valley Bible Church is to fulfill the Great Commission given to us by Jesus Christ. We reach out to the unsaved beyond our local sphere of influence in an intentional way:

  • By showing the love of Jesus Christ through ministering to human need
  • By assisting in church planting beyond our borders
  • By supporting those who are called to serve.

If you have a heart to serve on the Missions Team, please contact Carolee Villegas at (760) 739-0765.

Rick & Jenny Benson
777 Ranch, Ferron, Utah
Rick and Jenny Benson own and operate the Three Seven’s Ranch which is a working ranch and Christian camp designed to help young people develop a good work ethic and strong character, to provide quality horsemanship instruction for both kids and adults, and to offer programs to strengthen the family. The theme “using the outside of a horse to develop the inside of a man” describes much of the ranch program.  If you have never seen the Gospel taught while breaking a horse, you are in for a special treat when you watch Rick Benson work.  Three of their five adult children and their families work on the ranch with a fourth to return soon.  Here are some examples of activities held at the ranch: Mother/Daughter Retreat; Adult Horsemanship Extravaganza; Cowboy Poetry Gathering; Horsemanship Camp I and II.  For more information on this ministry, visit their website at 777ranch.org

Tim & Linea Sandvall
AWANA Missionaries
San Diego and Imperial County.

This fall we had the privilege of helping to start 5 new clubs, (4 in San Diego & 1 in Imperial). It was exciting to be a part of helping churches see how Awana can be a part of their church’s ministry & purpose to help children come to know, love and serve Jesus.

We have had the chance to visit over 20 churches & clubs & get to know some of the leaders & clubbers in our area. Those visits have been a blessing to us & it is encouraging to hear stories from both leaders & commanders about families and lives that have been impacted and changed through the ministry.  In November we spent three days in Palm Desert with Awana missionaries from our PacWest team, (California, Nevada and Hawaii). It was time of debriefing from Summer & Fall training as well as a time of vision-casting & “how-to” brainstorming as we try to align our goals & desires with God’s will to reach boys & girls for eternity. The meetings concluded with a time of celebration with the Awana Lifeline ministry at the opening of their new offices in Santa Clarita. Jim and Tessie Wroth
World Venture
East Asia
Jim & Tessie met while attending Talbot School of Theology. They had both grown up in non-believing families, coming to Christ during college—on opposite sides of the globe. As they saw God drawing them together, they also saw Him calling them to bring their light where it might shine brightest, in Tessie’s native land in East Asia. Having learned the language during their first term there, Jim has a day job teaching High School Math at an international school. He is about to change to a new job which will give him more freedom to meet with people. He and Tessie are conducting and facilitating training to help local fellowships. They and their four children are grateful to live in such a strategic place at such a crucial time.
