Pastor Kevin Ibanez
Pastor Kevin was born in New York City, but at the age of three he and his family moved to San Diego, CA where he grew up. His parents are both from Guatemala where they emigrated to the US about forty-five years ago and lived in New York.
He grew up in San Diego County (Spring Valley to be exact) until the age of eighteen and graduated from Monte Vista High School.  So, of course it goes without saying that he is a San Diego Chargers and Padres  fan;  but his favorite pro basketball team is the LA Lakers.

He went to college in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California and met his wife Andria when they were both involved in Campus Crusade for Christ.  They both graduated from U.S.C. and married in 1998.  So, naturally they are a Trojan family and love to go to U.S.C. football games – Fight On!  They have four wonderful children: their oldest son is Joshua, followed by twin boys, James and Jacob, and their youngest is their daughter Jasmin.  They also have one dog named Mijo whom they love very much!

Kevin completed a Certificate in Urban Youth Ministry from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA and is working on completing his Master of Divinity.  He was a public school teacher for nine years in the Rialto Unified School District where he taught English/ESL and Social Studies.  He was a youth pastor for fifteen years in the cities of Rialto, and Rancho Cucamonga, at three different churches in the Inland Empire of Southern California.  Kevin has traveled to Baja California, and Mexico City, as well as Madrid, Spain and Almaty, Kazakhstan on Missionary/Ministry Trips.  His favorite foods are Mexican, Italian, Chinese and he loves Sushi.

Kevin loves to read the Bible and books on ministry, watch good movies, travel and learn about new cultures and people.  His passion is to reach, serve and equip people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to help them grow closer to Jesus.  He enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, barbecuing and throwing the football around in the backyard with his sons.

Joseph Moreno, Worship Leader
Joe was born in Texas City, but grew up “mostly” in Orange County, CA. The last of three children, his parents nurtured his creative spirit.  He would also credit many other teachers ranging from youth pastors, fellow musicians and coworkers.  Each of them helping me to shape what has become a passion that transcends the music.

Entering the working world in the new millennium with a bachelors in music, I went on to learn the art of video editing which became my profession for several years. During this time I started a family while residing in Tucson AZ. I served on various worship teams while there and I learned what it meant to lead by submitting to the leadership.

Through many trials my family is transitioning back to CA. Not just to come home but to a new mission that God has so called us. Erin and I are here on purpose. Along with our 3 girls we are here to serve with the church and empower those willing along the way.

SueAnn Key, Secretary
Sue Ann Key has been with Valley Bible Church since September 2011 as the church secretary. Sue Ann grew up in a small city called Baguio in the Philippines. She came to the United States in March of 1990 and joined the military six months later. She met her husband, Gary Key, while they were both serving on board the USS Coronado stationed in San Diego, CA. Sue Ann served actively in the US Navy for 8 years and continued to serve the US Navy Reserve for 12 more years. Prior to being the church secretary, she was a self employed licensed Childcare Provider for 12 years and a licensed Foster Care Provider for 3 years. After 20 years of combined military service, she retired as a Chief Petty Officer in October 2010. She graduated from Palomar College with an Associates Degree in Business Management.

Her and Gary have 4 daughters: Glyzah, twins Zaleia and Zarina, and Gezylah. Sue Ann has volunteered as the VBC Awana Cubbie Director for 8 years. She likes to read, take pictures, scrapbook and travel.
Sue Ann’s spiritual passion comes from her childhood experience of fun, camaraderie and teachings based on Christian values while involved with a children’s club called “Chiro” in the Philippines. Chiro club is very much like the Awana Clubs. The name Chiro is a combination of the Greek letters chi (?) and rho (?), which are the first letters of Christos, the Greek form of Christ. Sue Ann says, “Through my leader’s teachings I learned to trust the Lord Jesus Christ. My favorite verse is John 14:6 ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'”
