Easter Sunday
Series: Easter Week
Easter is a Christian holiday, and Christian celebrations focus on the true meaning of Easter: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Two thousand years ago, a man died on a cross, was buried, and three days later rose to life again. This fact—that a dead man came to life again and lives evermore—is why we celebrate Easter. The meaning of Easter is that the Son of God paid the price for our sins and rose again to reconcile us to God (see Romans 4:25). Easter means that our greatest enemy, death, has been conquered. Easter means that our sins are forgiven and we are made right with God. Easter means that Christ is truly the King and Victor, seated “far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked” (Ephesians 1:21). The meaning of Easter is that Jesus is the Lord of new beginnings, new days, and new lives.

    Good Friday Service
    Series: Easter Week
In order for the good news of the gospel to have meaning for us, we first have to understand the bad news of our condition as sinful people under condemnation. The good news of deliverance only makes sense once we see how we are enslaved. Another way of saying this is that it is important to understand and distinguish between law and gospel in Scripture. We need the law first to show us how hopeless our condition is; then the gospel of Jesus’ grace comes and brings us relief and salvation. In the same way, Good Friday is “good” because as terrible as that day was, it had to happen for us to receive the joy of Easter. The wrath of God against sin had to be poured out on Jesus, the perfect sacrificial substitute, in order for forgiveness and salvation to be poured out to the nations.

    Series: Easter Week
Today we are celebrating the Feast of Passover with our Passover Seder Haggadah. A Haggadah is a religious structure. During Passover, the Seder is led by reading aloud a Haggadah, a book detailing the story of the event. The Hebrew word “Haggadah”, which means “telling,” is said to have begun in the Old English language around the middle ages. According to Jewish history, it dates back more than a thousand years.

    Celebrating the Risen Jesus!
    Series: Easter Week
Today is Easter Sunday.  He has Risen!  Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion. Easter is the fulfilled prophecy of the Messiah who would be persecuted, die for our sins, and rise on the third day. (Isaiah 53). Believing that the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead is essential for Christians. Merely recognizing that He died for our sins is not enough; we must accept His resurrection in order to receive eternal life. Christ paid our debt, but His sacrifice on the cross means nothing if He possesses no power over the grave. In vanquishing evil and death, the Lord made our salvation possible. Remembering the resurrection of Jesus is a way to renew daily hope that we have victory over sin.

God is holy and mankind is sinful; holiness is incompatible with sin, so humanity's sin separates us from God. The punishment for sin is eternal death. But human death and animal sacrifices are insufficient to atone for sin.  Atonement requires a perfect, spotless sacrifice, offered in just the right way. Jesus Christ is the one and only perfect God-man, and His death provided the perfect atoning sacrifice for sin and that through Jesus, our own sins can be forgiven. Consequently, when we accept Jesus Christ's payment for sin, he washes away our sin and restores our right standing with God; God's mercy and grace make salvation possible and we receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.  These beliefs explain why the date of Jesus' crucifixion is considered a "Good" Friday.

    Jesus: Prophet, King and Savior!
    Series: Easter Week
Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter that begins the Holy Week.  It is the day that we remember and celebrate the day Jesus entered into Jerusalem as Savior and King.  As Jesus rode a donkey into the town of Jerusalem a large crowd gathered and laid palm branches and their cloaks across the road, giving Jesus royal treatment.  The hundreds of people shouted "Hosanna to the Son of David!  Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!"

Easter Sunday: The Power to Change Your Life
    Series: Easter Week
Today is the culmination of our journey together through the events of Holy Week. We started with Palm Sunday and coming alive to Jesus’s life, which was above and beyond human understanding. On Good Friday, we did not look down in fear or defeat but held our heads high in order to focus on the cross and come alive to the sacrifice Jesus made. And today we celebrate! Jesus is alive, and through His resurrection, we come alive to His power to change our lives and to transform each one of us into a new creation. The first four minutes of this recording is our children's Easter program. The recorded volume is a little low, but the rest of the recording is fine.
